Here we go again

Email titled "BAD NEWS" from Cole's Dad. In a nutshell? He got fired. So once again no child support and no health insurance. It was a constant worry and struggle to get things taken care of the first time around. I can't believe I'm going to have to do all of this all over again. When does this end? How much fight do I have left?

What a drag. Unreliable again, in another way. Guess he's not saving up for next summer now, eh?

Kareen, check out CHIP:
The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is designed for families who earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid, yet cannot afford to buy private insurance for their children. CHIP coverage provides eligible children with coverage for a full range of health services including regular checkups, immunizations, prescription drugs, lab tests, X-rays, hospital visits and more.

Well, if he got fired, he may try to get unemployment and if he gets that, they'll still take child support out of it. At this point, it doesn't surprise me. He's going to be very sorry one day when he wants to know his son and his son won't have a thing to do with him. Do you have an insurance policy on Randy:)

One of my good friends decided early on that she was going to raise her son on her own. She has no intention of cultivating any kind of relationship b/w her son and his dad because he is a total loser, unworthy to be a dad, etc. So she made the decision early on to truly be a single parent. She told him not to worry about child support, that he could stick it where the sun don't shine. Anyway, that was 7 years ago and I have to say in her case she made the right decision. Breaking that tie, never relying on anything from him has made life simpler for her. No it's not easy being a single mom, but there is no unexpected curveballs, no fight, no struggle. I guess maybe that could be the lesser of two evils for you.

I am so sorry to hear about your ex. It is a good thing you are so awesome, you more than make up for both parents.
